Jewellery developed by Lara Torres and Catarina Dias between May 2007 and March 2008 for the Mimesis Project part I and II translating the mechanisms of memory into shapes through mimetic processes. The reproduction of found objects was done through traditional plaster casts and the use of orthodontic techniques of silicone moulds, that carefully captures details. This copies go far from mere imitation, since the materials, latex and silicone were deliberately chosen for something to be lost in this transference. Something was always lost from the original piece trough the reproduction processes, and the change would bring a new experience of the object itself. This pieces are produced by artisanal processes and each one is unique and differs from the other.
